Delightfully dirty

Normally going to a show entails that you quiet down, keep drinking to a minimum and refrain from overzealous whooping and hollering in response to what’s happening on stage, but not if you plan on seeing Dirty Hypnosis. This is one show where you are encouraged to get rowdy and set your inhibitions aside.

Eyes on the Prize

You wouldn’t think from looking at Terry Stokes and Michael Johns that they’re hypnotists. Terry’s persona is more like “George Hamilton and old-Vegas” and Michael comes across more as a “VIP clubber” than anything else. Terry Stokes got his start one night in 1969 when he saw hypnotist Jack Berry perform his nightclub act in Atlanta. After that mesmerizing evening, he devoted every waking moment to the study of hypnotism. In fact, Terry claims that he has trained or is responsible for the careers of the industry’s most successful hypnotists.

There are no rules in the late-night show and doubters are challenged early on as volunteers are chosen from each table. You’ve got to admire Stokes and Johns in this show – who else has the ability to bring an audience member to the point of ecstasy every time they sneeze!
